Undergraduate research on the global stage

Preparing Your Abstract Training

Our Training Programme for ICUR 2026 begins now! The sessions below are open for registration to any student researchers from our participating institutions. Training sessions will be available for registration here throughout the year: you can check our Training Calendar to see what is coming up.

Please note that you must not join our training sessions using any form of AI – our trainers and attendees have not consented to this.

Upcoming Training and Dates

Revise and Resubmit BOOT CAMPs are unstructured sessions of two hours facilitated by a member of the ICUR staff team. You can use the session as protected time to work on your abstract (no obligation to talk), chat to members of the ICUR team about your feedback, or listen to how other people are managing their revisions. Please note that these are communal sessions, not one-to-ones: if you would like one-to-one support, please book an individual appointment below.

One-to-One Revise and Resubmit Advice Sessions are individual sessions booked with ICUR team members. If you select this option, you will be emailed a link and invited to book your own slot with a member of the ICUR team.

Previous Training

Information Session: What is ICUR? will talk you through ICUR’s approach and philosophy. Staff and Student Directors will take you step-by-step through what ICUR is and what you could get out of participating; and they can answer any questions you might have about the processes, challenges, and benefits of presenting.

Abstract Writing Workshops are interactive sessions guided by a member of the ICUR organising team. You’ll learn more about research dissemination and why it’s important; you’ll hear more about interdisciplinary communities of research, and how exploring and networking within people outside your discipline could benefit you; and you’ll work on an abstract using the IATL Method. By the end of the session, you’ll have a working draft of an abstract which you can submit to ICUR 2026!

One-to-One Abstract Advice Sessions are individual sessions booked with ICUR team members. If you select this option, you will be emailed a link and invited to book your own slot with a member of the ICUR team.
