The International Conference of Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate research on the global stage

Finn Halligan

30th January 2021 by ICUR Web Admin

Finn Halligan was a history student at Warwick. He first discovered ICUR in his second year at university, by which time he had realised how much he enjoyed the processes of academic research and writing. Interdisciplinary approaches to research proved rewarding in his studies, but as an undergraduate, found there were few platforms on which to deliver to wider audiences. ICUR provided Finn with this platform in 2016 and, with their help, he was able to refine his writing and presentation skills and deliver to an engaged and diverse audience.
As an emerging framework of research, interdisciplinary study can expand knowledge, refine understanding, and create more nuanced theses. As part of the ICUR team, he helped to provide a platform to a wide range of students from all academic backgrounds, and extend the importance of interdisciplinary research to them.
