I’m Akshat, an undergraduate student studying Aerospace Engineering at NTU Singapore. I’m currently involved in research on CubeSats—miniaturized satellites roughly the size of a shoebox—used for oceanography and monitoring changes in our planet’s dynamic systems.
What drew me to research was the powerful idea that it doesn’t just answer questions—it moves society forward. Research fuels innovation, challenges assumptions, and often sparks revolutionary change. That sense of purpose and potential is what pulled me in.
My core interests lie in space and satellite technology, but I’m also fascinated by philosophy– how we think, question, and frame the world around us. It’s a reminder that research isn’t just technical, it’s deeply human too.
I joined ICUR because I believe in the power of global collaboration. It’s rare to find a platform where undergraduate voices from different parts of the world come together to share ideas that matter.
Looking ahead, my vision for ICUR 2025 is to build an even more interdisciplinary, innovative, and inclusive space. A space where science meets art, where data meets dialogue, and where students from every discipline feel empowered to present bold ideas whether from the lab, the field, or the mind.
To help bring this vision to life, I plan to encourage more interdisciplinary and try to inspire student researchers in making their first confident steps into public academic spaces.
