I’m Allen, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student. As an ICUR Student Director, I work closely with our counterparts from Warwick University to ensure that the event runs smoothly and successfully. I’ve been intrigued by 3D printing ever since I was first exposed to it back in secondary school, which sparked my interest in exploring innovative applications like 3D food printing—a topic I am pursuing in my research. Fun fact: despite using 3D printers for over a decade, I still don’t own one myself!
I decided to join ICUR as a Student Director last year because I saw it as a unique opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas, and explore diverse research fields. I’m excited to contribute to ICUR’s continued success while expanding my own academic and professional horizons. My vision for ICUR 2025 is to create an inclusive and inspiring platform where every aspiring researcher has the chance to showcase their work to the world. I’ll do my part to ensure the event runs smoothly and with minimal technical difficulties so everyone can shine.
